Biography

Youmu Konpaku is one of the strange entities in Gensokyo, part-human and part-phantom at the same time. Her two halves are not intermixed like one would expect from a cross-breed, but actually exist in physically separate bodies. Youmu has a straightforward and focused personality, which complements her swordfighting skills well. However, her personality conflicts with that of her master, Yuyuko Saigyouji, who is very whimsical and playful in nature. Still, she serves Yuyuko as best as she can, tending to the gardens in Hakugyokurou and following her orders. Youmu commonly wields two blades at once, having studied some under her predecessor, Youki. The longer blade, called Roukanken-Lookout-Tower Sword, is said to be able to kill ten ghosts in one swipe. The shorter blade, Hakurouken-White Tower Sword, is able to cleave through a person's own confusion. However, not much is known about her particular style of swordfighting or about her parents. What is known is that Youki, also a servant of Hakugyokurou, had begun training a very young Youmu when he suddenly disappeared one day, leaving her style incomplete. No one currently knows his whereabouts.

Special Cards

• Netherworld Reflection Slash - Youmu creates a projecile-reflecting barrier with the Hakurouken. Has no offensive properties but reflects over a wide area.
• Crescent Moon Slash - Counterattack with a slash of the Roukanken. The invincible upward slash is useful for anti-air or interruption.
• Slash of Life and Death - Youmu performs a successive attack that develops if you input it multiple times.
• Medium's Bind - Youmu sends her ghost-half flying at the enemy. If it hits, it will stay close to the enemy.
• Lotus Stance Cut - A standard sword-magic technique. It has good range and power, offsetting Youmu's usual strength in melee.
• Phosphoric Slash - A short-range attack that unleashes a burst of energy from Youmu's sword. Even when it returns it hits the enemy, so it's a good skill for short-range attackers.
• Intolerant Avici - A rare throw move that breaks her stance to grab the opponent. You have to be close, but it's impossible to guard so it's easy to pull off.
• Insightful Sword - Youmu stops direct attacks with Hakuroken and cuts down the opponent with Roukanken. Perhaps Youmu's most powerful attack.
• Heart Carving Cut - Youmu covers great distance to strike at the opponent. Since it aims for the feet, it's a low attack.
• Slashing a Flower Upon One's Head - Youmu jumps above the opponent and slashes them down with all her might. Even if the opponent guards, it's a good move, and Youmu can exert massive pressure on the opponent from above.
• Wicked Soul - Her ghost half glows and attacks. Since it attacks from wherever you are, you have to put thought into making it hit.
• Strange Half-Body - Youmu fires projectiles from her ghost half. The ghost has to recover for a bit, but it's easy enough to use with other attacks.

Super Cards

• Enlightened Sword "Rise from Delusion" - Youmu puts a huge amount of energy into her sword, creating a huge sword and slams it down on the opponent.
• Human Knowledge Sword "Turning Angel Cut" - Youmu creates a laser and then fires another laser toward you that also fires bullets on normal or harder.
• Spirit-Cutting Sword "Slash of Ascension to Buddhahood" - Crossing both swords, Youmu creates a pillar of energy reaching into the sky. Has practical uses as an anti-air, counter, or combo attack.
• Soul Sign "Ghostly Wheel of Pain" - Myon turns into a clone of Youmu.

Ultra Card

• Empty Perception "6-root Cleansing" - Youmu unsheathes her sword, parrying the opponent's melee attack, spliting into 5 of herself which quickly surround the opponent at high speed before all slashing at once, they then fade and Youmu descends for the finishing slash.
